Careers Guidance and Post 16 planning at Brayton Academy

Brayton Academy is committed to ensuring that students receive first class guidance, support and opportunities that will help their future decision making in all aspects of further education, training, employment and higher education. All Year 11, students will receive a compulsory careers interview with a senior member of staff and external careers advisor if needed, who will provide fully independent, impartial advice at this crucial stage of schooling. In addition to this, a dedicated team of Year 11 staff mentors are available to students to help and assist with their daily academy life and give guidance on those very important decisions for the future.

Local Colleges attend the Academy to deliver information to Year 11 students on the choices available post 16. It is vitally important that students attend as many College Open Events as possible to ensure that they have all the information necessary to make informed choices. Parents/carers are the single most important influence on their children’s career plans and the academy welcomes their support.
